Hi folks

My name is Mike and I live in Somerset..... I have been fiddling with locks for years, although I don’t claim to be that good by any stretch, but I do have a fairly good all round knowledge of locks. My interest started with Houdini and Magic. Back in the 80s I had an escape act that I performed from time to time. I have made up various trick locks over the years, or at least prototypes. Unfortunately My workshop is the kitchen table with minimal tools.

I don’t have a great amount of locks, but amongst my collection I have a couple of older ASSAs, a Ruko, various chubbs, including AVA padlock and handcuffs. I struggle with serrated pins and am focusing on them at the moment. I recently bought a small safe with a S & G dial combo.......we had fun getting that in the car......it hadn’t been opened for ten years, I managed to manipulate it open......eventually.....(the theory and practical with lock opening can be worlds apart!!!). I now have something to practice my manipulation skills on.

I would like to try and create new tools and ideas for opening locks, or at least brainstorm with others........to date I have never actually met another lock picker, so that could be an experience to look forward to as well.

That’s pretty much it at the moment, any questions, please ask......

Mike

Hi mate, nice to meet you.
We don't talk about safes on here, it's not something that we cover.
It would be fantastic if you could make it to Bristol for the meet.

Thanks everyone

I would like to do the Bristol meet, although it is likely that I will be working on Saturday, but there is a possibility of the Sunday.......I will look into it and then hopefully sign up.

Baldiloks.....it was your AVA video that inspired me to join here.

Just out of interest, is it ok to resurrect old threads here, as I know some forums don’t like it?

Great introduction! Yes, it's ok to resurrect old topics on here! Everything goes within the rules. There's no "you could have used the search" or "you should have started a new thread" on here. I'm looking forward to you resurrecting old threads actually. Have fun and share your progress even if you feel like it's insignificant. :welc:
