Hi all,

I just started having a go at this about a month ago after seeing my brother in law picking a lock on holiday. He said get yourself a clear practice lock if you want to have a go. So I did , along with some very cheap picks. Now I have some decent picks and I am battling with my master lock 3, a cheap tri-circle and one or two other cheap padlocks. I have opened them all but not consistently without raking. With the tri-circle in particular I feel very much like I am poking around and hoping. It is not as easy as they make it look on youtube!

I have already found lots of useful stuff in the newbie questions section here, so thanks all for that.

Cheers

Howdy @greasedweasel! welc
It's not uncommon for cheap locks to be a bit hard to spp. I would recommend getting some more locks to vary the practice =)

Thanks all, I am working on getting hold of some used euro cyclinders and I have a Master MK140 padlock on order - most of the online reviews seem to be by people buying it to pick.
