I am a complete beginner, who has been watching a load of you tube videos and has been hooked.
I've ordered a GOSO Lock Pick Set, and gathered a few padlocks and a couple of lever locks from old doors.
I am keen to learn and would welcome any advice.

I'm just a few weeks ahead of you.

I bought a bunch of locks to play with off Ebay; try searching for "job lot" or "practice" in the Home Securty > Locks section. There will always be some locks you can get into easily, which is great for morale, and others which you can't. Don't be afraid to put down a difficult lock when you've been at it for a while; I've been guilty of spending an hour or more on a single lock, but rarely opened one after that long. I've generally found that if a lock isn't open in 20 minutes, I might carry on learning about it, but am unlikely to get it open.

I started with a C2010 pick set but very soon found myself ordering some top of keyway wrenches, a vice and a lock disassembly kit.

Do post some photos of the tools you buy and any locks you open; everyone here seems really friendly, and photos go down really well.
