Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself, bought a sparrows set and should get stuck in and start contributing to the forum soon. My first introduction to lockpicking was when I was 9 and I picked a hefty looking lock with an ice cream stick :hee20hee20hee:

Hey mate, good to have you here. See if you can post a pick of your Sparrows kit - take a shot on your phone and upload it as an attachment.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. ur0ck

@MHM this is what I got:
Image

3x cut away practice locks ( 5 pin, serrated, spools)
Reload Kit
Tuxedo Royale
TOK bars.

I'm quite happy with this set, played a lot with the cutaway with the standard pins and re-pinned it a couple of times. One let down was that the plastic plug follower got stuck several times and I had to hammer it through when I was repining the lock, either the follower is too large or (more likely) the hole is irregular. I'll sand it down a little and try with the other cut-aways.

Wow that's an awesome starting kit, there's not much you're not going to be able to open with that lot, and as you say once you've repinned those cutaways a few times you'll know how security pins behave as well. Someone said recently that the feedback is weird on the cutaways, I'd be interested to know if that's true.
